There is the newly opened Airport ’Fly Balaton’ which is only 30min.drive from Szigliget (with Ryanair currently flying from the UK to the Balaton), the motorway (M7) is also very close so a visit to Budapest (the capital of Hungary) could be made in about 2 hours drive.

There are also many bicycle routes around the lake, which is also a perfect place for hiking and walking, or trekking with one of the horseriding schools. Or for those that need more of an adrenalin rush there is a paragliding school on the nearby hills and also motorised hang gliding.

There is also many beautiful places of interest to visit around the Balaton such as the famous Eszterházy castle and wine celler, where they serve the best Szigliget wines…
